What if my camera fails to connect to Wi-Fi?

  • 1. Please make sure the Wi-Fi the camera is connected to is 2.4GHz. Based on statistical feedback, most network connection failures are caused by users using 5GHz WIFI.
  • 2.Make sure the password correction of the Wi-Fi.(Note:the password of the WiFi cannot include single quotes,underlines, spaces and slashes (/).
  • 3. Check the number of devices connected to your router. In general, the router has a connection limit. Once the number of devices connected to your router exceeds its maximum limit, other devices won’t be able to connect to the router.
  • 4. Make sure the QR code on the phone screen is normal, and the distance between the phone and the camera lens is 10-15cm(3.9- 5.9 inches) during the scanning process.
  • 5. After checking the above information, if the camera cannot connect to the Wi-Fi, please try to re-download the APP, reset the camera, restart the router, and then add the camera again.
  • 6. If you have tried all steps and still failed, please message your order and problem to [email protected].

6. Camera Installation

1. Select the installation location;

2. Take the camera and your phone to the installation location; try to position your camera and use your app to move the viewing angle before you drill the wall; make sure it covers all the areas you are concerned about.

3. Use the Installation Guide in the App to diagnose the signal strength of your Wi-Fi network. (It is suggested that you install the camera in a place that has a strong Wi-Fi signal so that this camera can work well for you.)

4. Use a power drill and two screws to fix the camera on the wall. It is suggested to install this camera at 2.4-3m from the ground.

6.2 Installation steps

image 967

Important Notes on Reducing False Alarms

Do not face the camera towards any objects with bright lights, including sunshine, bright lamp lights, etc.

Do not place the camera near any outlets, including the air conditioner vents, humidifier outlets, the heat transference of projectors, etc.

Do not install the camera in places with strong wind

Do not face the camera towards a mirror.

Keep the camera at least 1 meter away from any wireless devices, including WiFi routers and phones in order to avoid wireless interference.

What if the device prompts offline?

Check whether the equipment is in the power-on state, and observe whether the working light of the equipment is on normal.

Check whether the Wi-Fi network is in good condition and restart the router.

If the device is located far away from the router, which results in the inability to obtain a good Wi-Fi signal, it is recommended to move the router to a closer place or add a Wi-Fi amplifier to improve the Wi-Fi performance of the home.

Delete the camera from your CloudEdge account and add it again after resetting the device.

Check whether the device firmware and application program are the latest version.

How do you update the router or WiFi password?

Delete the camera from your CloudEdge account. After resetting the device, use the new Wi-Fi and password to edit again.

What should I do if the product does not recognize the SD card?

Please confirm the SD card requirements below:

It is recommended to use San Disk, Samsung, and other cards;

Support 8-128GB capacity;

It is recommended to use a standard Class 10 SD card;

Only the FAT32 format is supported.

Is the auto-tracking not working, or is it out of control?

You can check the installation position and angle. The camera monitors too large a range, and the moving object is too small. If the camera cannot recognize it, it may not be tracked; if there are many moving objects at the same time, the camera may randomly select When tracking the object. The phenomenon of out-of-control occurs.

Can’t connect to wifi after scanning the QR code?

You can check whether the WiFi frequency is 2.4GHz, make sure that the WiFi password is correct, make sure that the WiFi can connect to the internet, and make sure that the WiFinetwork quality is normal.

Are motion detection alarms too frequent and often receive false alarms?

When the camera detects a motion change in the space within the monitoring range (motion change caused by human movement in space or other factors), the camera will send an alarm notification.

You could reduce the sensitivity or fix the area alarm to reduce the alarm. Too much alarm information is related to the installation location and the trigger frequency of the actual scene.

If you still receive interference, you can provide the number to our technology.

Is the motion alarm delayed, there is no alarm, or can the motion not be detected?

Install the camera at a height of 2.5m with a tilt angle of 15 degrees. And to ensure that:

WiFi signal strength is above 85%, all notification permissions of CloudEdge are turned on, power saving mode does not limit CCloudEdge, and CloudEdge is set to start after booting automatically. Turn off humanoid detection to improve the sensitivity of motion detection.

If the alarm still fails or the movement cannot be detected. Please send the SN number to our technicians through our after-sales mailbox to investigate the status of the camera.

Why the picture of the camera is not clear at night?

Since infrared rays have a light-gathering effect, the direction of the lens should not be facing the wall or other obstructions; otherwise, it will cause the obstructions to be very bright, and other places around it will be very dark.

The direction of the lens should not face the reflection source (such as a mirror/window). Otherwise, a light spot will be formed in front of the lens.

Avoid installing near obstacles such as cables and branches and near light sources such as street lights and infrared lights, and keep a certain height difference with the light source. Avoid direct light sources. If you are close to obstacles (whether in the monitoring screen or not)or strong light sources, the infrared rays emitted by the camera will be reflected back to the lens, resulting in poor night vision.

The effective working distance of the camera is 30 feet.

What should I do if the camera detects an alarm but does not receive an alarm notification?

Please confirm whether the mobile phone notifications are turned on, keep the mobile phone connected to the Internet, and keep the network signal in good condition.

If you still cannot receive the alarm, please send the SN number to us through the after-sales mailbox, and we will push the new firmware update APP according to your unique SN number.
